Championing University Packaging Design Students

ppc_photoThoro Packaging championed four University packaging design students, allowing them the opportunity to attend the Paperboard Packaging Council Fall Meeting in Las Vegas, (October 17-19, 2012). The students that attended were from San Jose State and The Art Institute of California, Inland Empire. The conference provided the students with an introduction to the folding carton industry. The three day event offered a vast opportunity to see presentations from industry experts and top companies. This is the first time that students have been incorporated into a PPC conference.

On the last day of the PPC conference, Jan Steiner spoke about the success of the student attendance. She was very appreciative that the PPC reduced the registration fee to Thoro, for the students. Jan hopes that this will open the door to more opportunities for student involvement and attendance at future meetings by inspiring other companies to support local students.
