Backside Printing for Packaging

Backside Printing for Packaging

Customers often ask us if they can print on the inside of their cartons. Not only can you, but we’ll even give you reasons why you should, and how it will enhance your packaging.

There’s more to packaging than what’s on the exterior. You don’t have to limit print to the outside of your cartons. One of the many printing options offered by Thoro Packaging is the ability to print both inside and outside of the box. Printing on the backside can enhance your folding cartons in many ways. Here are just a few examples:

  • Provides additional information, instruction or graphics
  • Provides a more finished look
  • Additional room to extend your branding
  • The addition of more color, patterns, or copy can improve your customer’s impression of your products and your brand
  • Printing on both sides can instill confidence in your customers because you are willing to put the extra touches into every aspect of their packaging experience, so they can expect the same from your product
  • Backside printing is an affordable alternative […]

TICCIT 2016

TICCIT 2016 – Thoro Packaging is happy to announce another successful TICCIT program for our kindergarten through sixth gradersPlanting Legacy Tree at five different elementary schools. The students participated in this Arbor Day event in which they learned how trees are grown and harvested for the making of paperboard and then turned into packaging materials that are recyclable and renewable. As part of the TICCIT program, Thoro donated 100 tree saplings so each school could participate in planting trees for future generations. In addition, The Prentice School received a special legacy tree for their campus.

This year’s sapling was a tulip poplar, a tall sturdy tree that provides lots of shade. We hope the students of Alcott Elementary School, Garretson Elementary, Cielo Vista Elementary School, St. Junipero Serra Catholic School and The Prentice School enjoy watching their trees grow for many years to come!

TICCIT is held during National Paperboard Packaging Week, which this year took place from April 18-22. For more information about TICCIT, visit www.ppcnet.org/ticcit.

Brand Packaging & Technology Summit 2016

March 17, 2016 – San Francisco

On St. Patrick’s Day, Thoro celebrated with Bay Area brands and graphic designers by all sporting green Esko lanyards at the Brand Packaging and Technology Conference at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco. It was a day filled with great networking and insightful information on new innovations to help brands manage their packaging design process, and expand design possibilities. Esko kicked off the event by breaking down the packaging design process, and highlighting tools that can help brands manage this process with more efficiency. From structural design and right-size packaging, to 3D renderings, brands learned how they can have more control and visibility in packaging design. Ways to streamline communication and collaborate on packaging design were showcased using WebCenter. The demonstration of Studio offered brands a chance to see their packaging designs in an interactive, virtual retail store.

Some of Esko’s partners showcased additional resources for brands that really rounded out the whole packaging […]

The Meaning of Green

The Irish holiday is always celebrated on March 17th, which is the day that Saint Patrick died. He was a missionary way back in the 4th century. His real name is believed to be Maewyn Succat. He took the name Patrick after he became a priest.

Saint Patrick’s Day has changed considerably since the 4th century. Leprechauns, green clothing, green drinks, green everything. Why you ask? Green is the color of Ireland and springtime. Green is featured in the Irish flag, it’s the color of shamrocks, and Ireland’s nickname is the “Emerald Isle.” There isn’t really just one reason why green is the official color of Saint Patrick’s Day.

If green is your favorite color it says a lot about your personality. Green is the color of balance and harmony. From a color psychology viewpoint, it steadies the heart and emotions, and creates a balance between the brain and the heart. Green is an emotionally optimistic color, providing us with feelings of nurturing and love. Green is a natural peacemaker.

If you choose green as the primary color […]

NEW Two Sides Video on Paper and Sustainable Forestry

There is a lot of misinformation about paper use and sustainable forestry. Contrary to what some people believe, paper has an excellent environmental-friendly story to tell.

Thoro Packaging only purchases paperboard from vendors that can assure us that their products are sourced from well-managed, sustainable forests. As part of our support of sustainable forestry practices, we use chain-of-custody-certified and controlled wood fiber—meaning we always know where our paperboard comes from and how it was produced.

We hope to get the facts out by sharing this recent animated video created by our friends at Two Sides.
