Great Reviews

Thoro helped our customer transform two of their lines to be re-launched. We assisted them by performing press tests with different coating options so they could find “the right look.”

Both lines were launched recently to great reviews and as a result, Thoro received the “2012 Partner of the Year” award. As an added bonus, one of their customers said “you guys ALWAYS impress and you continue to raise the bar for all of the competition.

If you are ready to re-launch or have a new launch, let Thoro help you achieve the right look.

2012 TICCIT Has Come To End

Thoro Packaging is happy to announce another successful TICCIT program for our third and fifth graders in the community. This week the students participated in an Arbor Day event in which they learned how trees are grown and harvested for the making of paperboard and then turned into packaging materials that are recyclable and renewable. As part of the TICCIT program, Thoro donated 100 trees so that each student was provided with a sapling to plant in an open-top box or milk carton.

A BIG THANK YOU to OUR CUSTOMERS

Today’s blog is dedicated to our customers. They are the key to our success. Thoro Packaging has experienced nice growth. Our equipment is running at a steady pace. Since January 2012, we have hired eight new employees.

I’d like to personally thank all of our customers for choosing Thoro Packaging for their folding carton packaging needs. We look forward to many more years of working with you, and wish your companies continued success and growth.

Trees Into Cartons, Cartons Into Trees

TICCIT

TICCIT (pronounced ticket) was adopted by the Paperboard Packaging Council in honor of Earth Day, Arbor Day, and is part of National Paperboard Packaging Week. This special week was created by Thoro Packaging’s own Dianne Vanover.

In 2011, eighteen companies throughout the United States have gone into schools to share the renewability and sustainability of paperboard packaging and communicate the enormous impact and value that trees have on our environment.

What An Honor and Inspiration!

Today I was honored to participate in the panel discussion on Pillar of Planning at the two day Leadership Success Summit in Ontario California. The Convention Center was filled with so many aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals, and I hope that I was able to answer their many questions regarding the importance of strategic planning and putting your plans into action.

Thank you for the presenter invitation Lisa Marie, President of Upside Thinking, Inc.

Santa Visits Thoro…

Santa made his annual stop at Thoro on Saturday. He was here to handout toys and gifts to children that were donated by Thoro Employees through the Angel Tree Program. It was great to see the little ones eyes light up.

Angel Tree is a Prison Fellowship program that connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts. Through Angel Tree, you can coordinate a program within your group or organization to give children in your community Christmas gifts on behalf of their incarcerated parents.

Three Generations at Thoro Packaging…

Our holiday promotional pack-out is a yearly Thoro tradition. This year was extra special. We have three generations of Dabek/Steiners working together at our top secret workshop.

From left to right is Macy Steiner, General Manager and my son, Helen Dabek, one of the original founders of Thoro Packaging and my mother (Macy’s Grandmother); and me, Jan Steiner, President of Thoro Packaging.
