Considering Your Packaging Resolution for the New Year

It’s that time of the year when we start to examine our life. We make resolutions to better ourselves in terms of getting rid of poor habits, picking up good ones, taking better care of ourselves and the people around us, learning to manage our lives better etc.

How about your packaging? Does it need some revving up? Perhaps it needs to be better? If you answered yes…following are some important things to consider.

Giving Back Has It’s Rewards…

The YMCA recently gave us a BIG THANK YOU with these beautiful and creative crafts made with our donations of paperboard.

Thoro Packaging is grateful to have the opportunity to give back to this amazing organization. The YMCA is so much more than a gym. For more than 40 years, our neighborhood Y has been the bedrock of the community by growing, adapting and innovating to meet critical needs. Their focus is on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, to strengthen our community.

Thoro Packaging would like to thank the children of the Corona-Norco YMCA for their wonder fall creations and urge other corporations to support their local YMCA.

In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness that Thoro Packaging announces the passing of our co-founder. Helen “Mimi” Dabek passed away on July 25, 2013, at home in Yorba Linda.

Helen was a remarkable woman in so many ways. She was half of the dynamic duo that started Thoro Packaging in 1967, along with her husband Macy Dabek. She reinforced his vision of a quality short-run folding carton company in Southern California.

In a need for equipment with very little cash and a lot of determination, the Dabeks founded Thoro Packaging. Their desire was to focus only on folding cartons and to be the best in the market place. So, in January 1968 with a single one color printing press, one small die cutter and Mrs. Dabek with glue bottle in hand, Thoro Packaging became a reality!

Helen leaves behind her daughter, Jan Steiner; her two grandchildren, Jackie and Macy; and three great grandchildren, Jonte, Piet and Lucan. Helen brought joy and wisdom to those who knew her.

Memorial services for Helen “Mimi” Dabek will be on Thursday, August 1, 2013 […]
